Wish I could say I don't need anything or anyone. Sometimes you just have to remove yourself from the equation by disregarding the relationship. When characteristics aren't a good fit, it's nice to know that, even though the night is cold, I've got a hand to hold. I've got my (BFF)...

#MyYoungBuck, perhaps as quickly as I complain about my young buck, I should eloquently express words of encouragement instead. It's true, over the years he's been a little rough around the edges at times, but for the most part he's been exceptionally good to me. So much so that when another guy comes along and tries to make me believe that I will need him before he needs me... well, that's when my young Buck steps in to make sure that I want for nothing, and when I say nothing, I do mean absolutely NO-thing!

So, I started dating this guy. This guy I met back in 2012 which my young buck never met. This guy was kind, but reclusive, so I decided to dump him. Nothing over the top, nothing too serious, but it was getting to be a tad over indulgent. Since he was a nice guy I guess he figured, I will need him before he needs me. Who needs that when you're not sure if you should even take this guy seriously in the first place? There were so many unanswered questions. So he made himself history.

My young buck on the other hand...

Our comradery reminds me that as long as he's alive, I will never be alone. Being around him fills this emotional void that might otherwise be problematic. Laughing with him is second nature, and we are really good at reading each other's body language. Although this young man isn't a rich man, if I want for anything, my Buck has matured to the point where I don't even have to ask. No longer do we take our friendship for granted.

When the truth hurts, he makes the pain go away. This dude will fight sleep because he refuses to leave me alone at a time when he know's I shouldn't be. It’s rather hilarious to watch him doze off. One night he woke up and said, “I’m not sleep I’m watching the movie, even though the movie is really watching me.” Then he started snoring and within a matter of seconds he fell right back into a deep sleep. He won't leave my side until I go to bed.

The stroke of midnight 2017 was different for us this year. Somehow we both wound up alone, but it didn't take him long to get here that day, and so I call him Buck, because he's my young Buck. Then he started calling all of his younger friends Buck, but what I think is so cool -- it's that I'm older than he is, but he calls me his young Buck too. We call each other Buck. It may sound corny, but when you have a best friend for life, that's what you do. You set trends, make pacts, and support each other's future endeavors.

So this Sunday we've got a meeting to set some goals for the year. I know that if I take care of him he will continue to take care of me. At the end of the day, it's just nice to know that you've got someone who will be there for you when the going gets tough.

Back in 2014 he brought me a set of electronic drums for Christmas.

"So, hey we brought our drum and this is how we dance no mistaken'. We make our breaks, if you don't like our 808's, then..."

#myyoungbuck, I'm well protected, he shares and never takes advantage (considerate, compassionate, generous, strong, etc.). My safe haven, my retreat. So hey, that's my young buck. We make our own rules.

Always with each others best interest at heart…
that's #myyoungbuck

If You Like To Move It, Move it, Wolf Cycles & Firehouse Bicycles is Convenient & Affordable

I wasn't aware that you could get a tune up for a bike until recently. Nor was I aware that Google Maps would take you on a bike route called the Schuylkill Trail or The Chestnut Street ramp. Anyway, my new friends at Wolf Cycles are taking good care of me, but I don't know what to do with myself when I have to wait my turn. My bike may not be ready until Thursday.  I have a tendency to be spoiled rotten! Blame my parents, my grandparents, and my great grandparents. I guess I should be grateful for all the love, but now that they are gone, reality sets in.

The service at Wolfe Cycles is outstanding and they gave me some really exceptional advice on the quality of bikes purchased in chain stores. Surely, they are in it for the quantity and not the quality: however, you can purchase a refurbished bike from their other bike shop. It’s called Firehouse Bicycles, on 50th and Baltimore Avenue in Philly for approximately three hundred bucks. Both stores keep the same hours Tuesday – Saturday 9 - 7 PM.

The best part about it is, both bike shops are under the same ownership and they offer a 10% discount to all couriers. Bada bing, bada boom! Outstanding service, good advice, social camaraderie, and night lights. I saw one guy riding down the street with his bike all lit up. So I asked Wolf Cycles, and now my bike is going to light up too! Now that's what I call, "Doing good business".

Years ago, my feelings were hurt, when the previous owner told me that I should just buy a new bike because he was not willing to repair the one I walked in the door with. I took it personal. In all sincerity I didn't appreciate the fact that he was talking about my bike like that. I figured, he's just trying to make bike sales and in all sincerity, his bikes are way over priced and a new bike simply wasn't in the budget. So I stopped frequenting the shop. Found out ownership changed in the early 2000’s then again to the current owners.

I like the new owners. One bike mechanic, Alex explained a whole lot to me and it all made sense. In so many words, why put so much money into fixing a lemon of a bike, when you can just purchase a new one?

The thing is… I was having a hard time with my printer. I put my printer repair job on Thumbtack and got quotes from technicians that were charging hundreds of dollars. Why? Only to realize that I can just purchase a new printer off eBay for $25.00; oh well folks, you live and you learn. In the end, Wolf Cycles confirmed what I already suspected. It's time to go out with the old and in with the new.

More than likely, I'll sell the old bike at an online auction along with all anything else sitting around collecting dust, it's OUTTA HERE! Why let it sit around collecting dust? I've got a few bikes in the basement. Maybe I can donate what's salvageable and scrap the rest. In any event, if you’re interested in becoming a courier this summer, click here, just don’t forget, when you’re in Philly, make sure you take advantage of Wolf Cycle’s 10% discount and the refurbished bike shop on 50th & Baltimore

I like to move, it move.... MOVE IT!

Big ups to my friends at Wolf Cycles, you guys rock!
‘Till we meet again… be safe and God bless.

It's Saturday!

Saturday, it's Saturday,,, speaking of being stood up. Who needs that? Haven't heard from him in a while. Wonder if he knows that I don't care. It's SATURDAY! SATURDAY! SATURDAY! Here's what Wikipedia has to say about Saturday.

Enjoy your day people. Since it's Saturday all day, make sure you have fun all day. I plan to catch up on some DVR stuff and kick back on chill out mode. It's rather dreary outside, but I don't care. It's SATURDAY, SATURDAY, SATURDAY!

Buck said, "Somebody, somewhere is going to bring me some food today." I know that's right because I'm not cooking. It's Saturday, Saturday, Saturday, all day today. I'm fixing to have my meals delivered.

Yup, yup, it's Saturday...

This song is wrong on so many different levels. Why? Glad you asked, most already know this, but when a horse is on his way back home, he's hard to tame. Running uncontrollably, just like the cheating on the DL (downlow) that's lyrically being expressed in this tune.

It's secular and hard to forget. I tell ya, I can't get it out of my head. Her delivery is flawless. Oh well...

Love Elsewhere

Sometimes it's toxic and you just want them to love elsewhere. Sometimes he/she just won't let
pure friendship be...

This track is music that will move you. Not too shabby on the lyrics either.
